POSITION OVERVIEW

We have embarked on a path to build a leading company in the solar industry. As Director for Solutions and Software Products you will lead the team responsible for defining and implementing FTC’s strategic software roadmap. As such you are responsible for the P&L of the software business. Your decisions will shape FTCs existing (SunPath, SunDat and ATLAS) and future software solutions and you are responsible for maximizing the value of the solutions for customers and FTC. You will work closely with the Product Manager for the hardware to enhance the solution value that FTC is bringing to the customer. You bring value as a well-respected leader with strong analytical ability, business acumen and effective organizational and people management skills, ready to work in a fast growth environment. You meet deadlines and deliverables, while being a self-starter who is engaged and actively participating in all facets of the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ownership of the profitability of FTC’s software business
  • Assess the value proposition of FTC’s software products and FTC’s combined hardware and software offerings and how it compares to competition and unmet market needs
  • Identify all steps of the solar system development cycle and how software can support these
  • Size the opportunity and make data driven decisions on build out of the software offering
  • Develop software business models (subscription, licensing, tokens, …) for FTC’s software packages
  • Work on internal roadmap and M&A opportunities to address opportunities in the offering
  • Discuss and set the development plans jointly with the Software Engineering organization
  • Understand how software enhances the solution value of the hardware offerings of FTC and build a solution pricing approach, including different delivery/licensing models, e.g., SAAS
  • Participate in high level negotiations, secure comprehensive agreements with suppliers and customers to maintain high level of industry expertise and supplier/market conditions
  • Keep documentation and product support procedures up to date and improve their effectiveness

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate degree in Business, IT or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of software product management, software development, and marketing
  • 5+ years of experience with B2B software products, including business development and pricing
  • Knowledge of the renewable sector, especially solar
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Assesses and solves problems by analyzing information/data logically, understanding the problem fully, determining root causes, developing, and evaluating alternative solutions
  • Thinks beyond status quo, questions how things might be different, and develops creative ideas for alternatives including risk taking and overcoming pushback or resistance
  • High energy and enthusiasm, can form and lead teams throughout the organization without clear reporting lines
